Hello, Welcome to the new Movablestyle.com!
Some of you may know me from my weblog dasme.org. A few days back I was surfing along visiting some of my old bookmarks. I came to this site and saw the posting below from Scott Yang. He no longer had the time to update the site, and was looking for someone to take over for him. I contacted him right away. He agreed to transfer the domain, and this is the result.
I first found this site through a websearch when I was in the planning stages of my own Movabletype template site. Seeing what a good job Scott did I put my plans on the back burner. Now to actually be running the site that I found, well... it's quite ironic. :)
For right now I put the backup Scott sent me online, but have some big changes in mind. Stay tuned.
Did some of you say Movabletype 2.x, Movabletype 3.x and WordPress styles? hmmm... curious.
Posted by Dasme at May 21, 2004 12:07 PM | TrackBackLooking good, Lloyd! But you might want to fix up the index template like "My Other Blogs" section.
Posted by: scotty at May 21, 2004 06:02 PMYep, for sure! I have lots of templates to update, just wanted to get the site up and running before digging in too far ;)
Posted by: Dasme at May 21, 2004 07:39 PMDo the new styles work with MT3... since the styles changed..?
Posted by: Olajide Olaolorun at May 22, 2004 09:10 PMUnfortunatly not yet. Currently all the stylesheets here are for Movabletype 2.x
I will be adding 3.x compatable styles soon.
Posted by: Dasme at May 22, 2004 09:58 PMYou will focus on the new 3.x styles, won't you? I will stick on the free 2.x version of MT(and I think there would be many old 2.x users like me)...
Posted by: Neo at May 23, 2004 10:26 PMbest of luck!
Posted by: Marcos at May 25, 2004 08:42 PMI just found this site on a search for styles and it was just what I was looking for. Perfect. I'm now using Modern Lines. Thank you very much.
Posted by: Iain at May 26, 2004 08:51 AMJust as an aside, are there any good sites that offer alternative templates? Or do most that want a little customization just alter the templates to their needs?
Just curuious, since there are sites for the stylesheets.
Posted by: jgbiggs at May 26, 2004 02:16 PMDasme, I wish you all the luck you can hold in your hands.
Please do a good job, and please alert us when you need any help.
Myself, I'm no 'professional' blogger (as you can see from mine), but I'm a web developer and love to see what people are doing with CSS. I was sad when Scott said that he was stopping the site, but knowing your work on Dasme, I am relieved someone capable took the job.
Posted by: Sami at May 27, 2004 07:06 AMThanks for all the well wishes guys! I hope to have the new site revisions done within a week. Took longer then expected, but things always seem to be that way :)
jgbiggs: No sorry, I know of no such site. Template modifications are hard to get started in, but once you get your feet wet it becomes second nature. Let me know if you need any pointers.
Posted by: Dasme at May 29, 2004 11:28 PMSorry to hear that Scott's gone. But it seems that he has chosen the perfect successor ;)
